Upcoming oppo mobile

Oppo’s phone sales momentum is very interesting. We saw the company’s sales numbers drop, and once it stopped recognizing money from OLED TV…

Then came the Oppo Find X series, which started with the Find X3 in August. The X3 performance that was gorgeous was enticing buyers. Maybe it wasn’t just the chipset and some nifty design. Maybe it’s the second screen detachable or that those ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.

Anyway, the results were the same: a continued increase in sales numbers. They seem to be focusing more on the higher-end phones, which might explain the increase of shipments for the Q3 quarter (2Q18: +25%) because they see a future where high-end devices are the ones which require something great to sell. The main take away here is that people are willing to pay extra for the kind of high-end designs.

4/21/2018, from Offered/anonymous sources, third party reports that supplies of the flagship Find X30 have been rapidly increasing, along with those of the competing Find X5 Pro, each one being in high demand.

Orders for the Oppo Find X20 Pro have now dried up, but the company is not going to stop the production. The manufacturing line has limited space and can go only to a certain point, but supplies will start ramping up again in the coming days. The company uses different production lines for its flagships and it seems it will keep prioritizing the flagship line.

As for the lower-end variant, it still didn’t clear its first round of orders. The custom production line for this variant started operations in September, but the first shipping product is not expected until early October. This is all very encouraging for the company: it recently introduced a new development tool, aimed at the lower-end category, with the goal of getting those devices certified as a smart TV unit. Apparently, the factory can only handle flagship phones, which is why we shouldn’t expect the company to begin producing these phones soon.
